Money Matters - Ofcourse, In hand

YVR has increased the CRR to 8.25 from 8%. CRR is the Cash Reserve Ratio that every bank has to maintain with the Reserve Bank of India. I thought that this is a much needed increase as every bank gives loan without doing credit check or the repaying capacity of the individual or the company. In such bad state of affairs in loan lending, it is wise decision to improve the strength of your liquidity. On the parallel, Infosys leads among all Software exporter companies in maintaining huge Cash in Hand. Even in our traditional grand mother way of budgeting for the family, we had the practise of having a reserve cash in the kitty.

Why worry about the increase in CRR by 25bps ? Afterall, it is going to be useful on a rainy day.

Movie with/on Children

This blog is written after I watched Taree Zameen Par. A wonderful film. Those are very simple words to describe the movie. Movie made with/on children is difficult ordeal and Aamir Khan has proved his excellence. He has silenced many of empty rhetoric of Shah Rukh Khan. This blog is not intended to strike a rife between Aamir or Shah Rukh. It is about my change in attitude on movies made with/on Children.

I was a school going kid (probably 6th std) when I saw the movie Anjali made by Mani Ratnam. What a movie it was. I was really impressed with Baby Shamili who gave a memorable performance. I enjoyed the movie for songs, mischiefs and star cast. I do not think I have seen this movie for a while.

During my college days, I saw Kannathil Muthamittal made by Mani Ratnam. I had seen this movie atleast twenty times. Once again, excellent performance by Keerthana. I was able to appreciate this movie as it beautifully portrayted the complex relationship between a mother and a foster daughter.

During my graduate days, I saw the movie To Kill a Mocking Bird and read the book of Harper Lee. Once again excellent performance by the kid. I was able to appreciate the movie or book for the social issues of racial inequality it portrayed.

Now, today I saw this movie TZP. Now, in my life, I have been blessed with a daughter. When I see this movie through an eyes of parent, it brings total different perspective of todays issues in raising the children.

I have to simply resign to the fact that few things cannot be explained and have to be experienced. And of course opinions do change as time passes.

Obama - Clinton - Whose Win is it Anyway?

Clinton, winning the Pennsylvania Primary and narrowing the gaps in Democratic Delegate Count. Whose Win is it Anyway?

Clinton still holding herself for the Coveted Portfolio .
Obama struggling efforts in maintaining the momentum.

McCain's dilemma in whom to Oppose - Clinton or Obama....The best for McCain is to get out of the country and visit places...Thats what he is doing on PAID vaccation trip to Europe and West Asia. Also he is making some empty rhetoric just to remind everyone that I am there in this fray.

Clinton and Obama are assassinating one another and eventually assassinating their own self. Lot of rubbish has already been spilled. Republicans have to simply wait and watch and use this as their weapon during Presidential Debates.

Clinton and Obama are interesting in fighting between them for Democratic nomination and they have almost forgotten of all these repurcussions and the fight against the Republicans for the November elections.

Union Elections 2009 - What is the President going to do

Union Elections 2009. Another Big Drama. Election Commission has to do a thankless job. People have to vote for Thankless Politicians who, when elected, will do things of their whim and denying the thoughts of popular mandate. Looking through the past 12 years, we have seen a coalition government in place. I trust the trend and I expect another coalition government. What am I interested in ? What will the president do if Non Congress Party becomes the single largest party?

Will our president be fair and impartial ? Given the politics that have gone behind in the making of a President, I am sure we are to see more mockery and murder of our Constitution by our GREAT LEADERS.

Quo Vadis, India?
